Tom Yum Kung Nam Khon was developed from the traditional recipe by adding chili paste or coconut milk in the soup for the smooth taste. This creamy soup is very popular nowadays.

The spices and herbal ingredients used in this soup such as galangal, lemongrass and kaffir limes leaves contain high level of antioxidants. Tom Yum Kung (Nam Khon) 100 g has total oxygen radical absorbance capacity (Total-ORAC) 17.55 mg Trolox equivalent.

  • Preparation : 

    - 35 g. Tom Yam Chilli Paste.

    - 1 lemongrass (sliced & crushed)

    - 2 kaffir lime leaves (optional) 

    - 2 small red chillies and 8 mushrooms

    - 10 prawns headless.

    - 1 tbsp. fish sauce

    - 1 tsp. sugar

     - 5 g. coriander leave and 5 g. galangal (optional)

     

    Direction : 

    1. Boil 500 ml. of water.
    2. Add sliced galangal, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, crushed chillies adn quartered mushrooms.
    3. Bring back tothe boil.
    4. Add prawns,sugar, fish sauce and Tom Yam Chilli paste.  Simmer until cooked through.
    5. Remove from the heat, add lime slice.
    6. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with soup bowl.
