A real Thai classic Pad Krapao ( which means basil stir-fry) topped with, or served over, a crispy fried egg with a slightly runny yolk.

 

This dish is also quick and delicious to make at home – the only ingredient you may struggle to find outside of Asia is holy basil – at a push you could use sweet basil instead.

Pad krapao is usually made using either chicken or pork, but beef or even seafood like squid could also be used.

  • Preparation:

    - Water 1 table spoon

    - Chicken, Beef or other meat sliced into pieces 250 g.

    - Lemongrass, sliced into pieces

    - Vegetable Oil 1 table spoon

    - Skillet

     

    Directions:

    Submerge the packet in hot water for 1 min, Cut open, the paste will come out easily.

    1. Slice or chop 250 g. beef, chicken or other meats

    2. Heat a skillet and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

    3. When the skillet is hot, add the meat and contents of this packet together with 1 tablespoon water.

     

    Stir-fry until done and serve.
